About Khirma Eliazov
Handbags
At a little under a year old,
former magazine and fashion stylist Khirma Eliazov's line of luxury handbags
has already been selected as one of "four buzzworthy entrants into the
world of accessories" by WWD in April, 2009.
The introductory collection is
composed of handbags that are truly statement pieces. The line uses a
combination of luxurious and sometimes unusual exotic skins, including python
and chagrin (stingray) together with the finest Italian leather. Her signature
purple linings, originally designed hardware with an emphasis on classic
structure and silhouettes, provide for a timeless handbag that is likely to
convert Khirma Eliazov products from the "It Handbag" to "The
Handbag." Attention to design detail is also apparent in the hand-woven
handles, cut to the perfect width to comfortably hug your shoulder. Together
with reinforced straps that are adjustable to the desired length ensure the
highest level of comfort and accessibility.
With the firm belief that women choose accessories that reflect their style and
lifestyle, all while serving as the perfect finale for any look, Khirma
Eliazov's collection of handbags are the perfect statement piece for the
sophisticated and stylish woman who appreciates distinctive, yet classic design
and enduring quality that is synonymous with luxury.
Khirma Eliazov (Designer/Founder)
Khirma
Eliazov (pronounced Erma), a fashion insider, who emigrated from the Republic
of Georgia to New York with her family when she was two years old, knew early
on that fashion would always be an integral part of her life.
Khirma began her creative career as an
accessories assistant at Mademoiselle Magazine and quickly progressed into
becoming a fashion stylist working with clients ranging from Saturn, Nikon and
the Bravo Network to freelancing as an accessories and market editor at
recognized fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and TeenVogue .
The consistent exposure to the “best in
class” accessories, specifically handbags, taught her to value superior design,
product quality and functionality.
Next, she
took on new challenges and began to develop other creative outlets as a brand
and marketing consultant, guiding companies on how to build brand loyalty
through strategic creative and marketing platforms, gaining a deeper
understanding of consumer needs and loyalty. This experience solidified the
importance of building a brand in a particular manner that ensures sustainable
growth and longevity through creating brand differentiation.
Khirma’s desire to create a fashion statement that
represents style, vision, quality and creativity came to fruition this year in
the design of her first collection of unique luxury handbags which debuted this
Fall 2009.
Keira Guez (Director of
Production and Sales)
In Spring 2009, joining the Khirma
Eliazov brand as a partner, the daughter of denim mogul Paul Guez, has had her
hands in the fashion industry from a very young age. Initially working behind
the scenes at Blue Holdings, which encompasses Antik Denim, Taverniti So and
Yanuk denim lines, she eventually moved up the ladder into the sales department
of the larger corporation. To follow her dream of working in fashion and to
create her own path in the industry, Keira made the decision to move to New
York, where she quickly met former fashion editor and handbag designer Khirma
Eliazov.
Melding Khirma's creative and
design vision with Keira's expertise in sales and production, they joined
forces to present the Khirma Eliazov Handbag Collection. "I am fortunate
that my family background enabled me to develop knowledge of the industry
beyond my years. Khirma is the perfect partner in that together we complete
both the creative and business aspects in order to build our brand."
